Minnesota School of Music Logo

Minnesota School of Music offers the best drum lessons in Blaine with an age-appropriate curriculum focused on helping students learn and develop skills that they can improve over time.

Our drum teachers teach a variety of styles from classical to popular music.

Your child will learn drum techniques as well as theory. They will also learn how to play along to their favorite contemporary music that they truly enjoy.

Our current drum instructor is highly knowledgeable in the craft and is also skilled at teaching.

To have the best success, look for the following things in a drum set:

  • Complete set: A basic drum kit will consist of a bass drum, a snare drum, a tom, a floor tom, a hi-hat, and a crash cymbal (it would be preferrable to have a ride and splash cymbal too). An additional tom and a more efficient set of drum pedals will also enhance your child’s playing.
  • Invest in a good drum throne for comfort. This will allow the student to practice longer comfortably.
  • Drum tuner and a good set of drum sticks.

It is ideal for students to have their own drum kit to play with. You can either purchase one or rent one to help them along with their musical journey.
